The Wetsundays

Queensland. The sunshine state – beautiful one day, perfect the next. Right?

Wrong!

Bloody tropical cyclones, first Debbie and now Donna and Ella are wreaking havoc with the weather here in the Whitsundays. Instead of the bright blue skys and crisp warm sun we were expecting here in the tropics, we’ve copped days of blustering wind and rain.

But it is still a beautiful part of the world. If you find yourself in the Whitsundays, commandeer (or just hire) a sail boat, and follow the Ngaro sea-trail. This will take you to all the best bits: picnics with cockatoos, diving with turtles, sailing past dolphins and butterflies, bushwalking past ancient hoop pines and aboriginal art, and climbing waterfalls. It’s magical. Even in the rain!
